Haowei (Alice) Chen

Postdoc

Haowei (Alice) Chen is the recipient of the NSF QIP Mathematical Fellowship, SIAM MDS24 Travel Award, and multiple endowed graduate scholarships, with contributions to NSF- and AFOSR-funded projects in control, learning, and dynamical systems. She earned her Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of South Florida in 2025 under Dr. Joel A. Rosenfeld and her M.S. in Computational and Applied Mathematics from the Missouri University of Science and Technology in 2015. Currently a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Systems, Cognition, and Control Laboratory at the University of Florida with Dr. Rushikesh L. Kamalapurkar, her research spans operator theory, optimal control, machine learning, quantum computing, and fractional analysis, with publications in leading journals and international conferences. She also brings interdisciplinary expertise spanning AI model development, advanced data analytics, and innovative mathematics education.
